How can Solar Energy change our energy needs?
Solar energy is being used in a number of applications already, but carports are something new. Japan-based Sankyo Tateyama Aluminium has begun selling carports with solar power generation systems installed on their tops. The main idea is to attract both customers who aren’t able to install solar panels in their homes and those who need to boost the amount of solar energy in their houses.
These carports protect two motor vehicles with solar panels on top of a construction. The maximum amount of panels covering these carports is about twelve and provide about 2,250W per year. This is about 50% of the average households needs on a yearly basis.
It still comes at a very hefty price but it is something that should be kept in mind if there is a price reduction when economy of scale comes into play

Apple TV way forward
With new data capacity to South Africa it will become possible to watch podcasts, YouTube movies and other media like movies. You will be able to download movies to your Apple TV module and watch it at a later stage.
In the future it will be possible by my reasoning that an I-Phone like the 3GS or even the I-Tablet will replace the Apple TV. The I-Phone will only be more functional and have more functionality
Mobile Fleet management
Mobile Fleet management will become an important part of day to day operations in logistic companies and the need for tracking by customers and updating of a task list will be made easy in web based applications that can integrate to backend systems and ERP solutions. This new technology making use of GPS to pinpoint the parcels or vehicles in a fleet.
This new way of managing logistics will enable companies to update tasks to a mobile device or effect changes in round tripping of vehicles to reduce the time spend on the road and to most effectively calculate the best routes based on the shortest time or the shortest route. This should in effect streamline businesses and leverage both benefits to the customer and the supplier by reducing service delivery and reducing duplication of routes. Application of this will be a more efficient delivery of pizzas for a delivery business

How will the I-phone add to technology
I am awaiting my new I-Phone 3GS handset and is looking forward to the benefits that it will holding in for me as a normal Joe Soap.
I have seen some of the applications that are available like sending a 15 second sample of a song to a web service. The web service will recognize the song for you and search online catalogues to suggest an online store for purchasing it online and downloading the song to your I-Tunes.
This is amazing to think that all this advances have been made in the last 15 years since mobile devices have taken off in a big way.
Then there is things like cloud computing that will be holding in some value to roaming people accessing information from anywhere on the globe.
Do you know of any useful applications that is available on mobile devices ?
